Start with the cash price
Check the same product or service without the reward. A higher base price is an economic cost.
A headline percentage is not the result. Compare the BTC you can actually withdraw against every incremental cost and every behavior change needed to earn it.
A useful reward improves a purchase you already intended to make. If it changes your spending, adds a subscription, hides a markup or traps BTC behind a withdrawal minimum, the headline percentage can be misleading.
This is a comparison framework, not a claim that every cost can be known in advance.
Confirm whether you receive BTC immediately, points that can convert later, or fiat credit.
Check whether the rate applies to purchase value, selected merchants, categories or a capped monthly amount.
Minimum withdrawal, network fee and custody can erase a small reward.
Campaign dates, merchant exclusions and category caps belong in the calculation.
If a reward encourages an unnecessary purchase or a more expensive merchant, the extra spending can exceed the Bitcoin received.
Check the same product or service without the reward. A higher base price is an economic cost.
A platform balance with a high withdrawal threshold is not equivalent to BTC already in a wallet you control.
Review custody →“Up to” percentages and introductory rates should be tied to a last-verified date, not presented as permanent yield.
Keep a short record of the live terms so the comparison can be refreshed later.
| Field | Question | Failure mode |
|---|---|---|
| Provider | Who owes the reward? | Unknown counterparty or copied brand |
| Rate | What transaction value earns it? | “Up to” headline with narrow categories |
| Cost | Any fee, markup or subscription? | Reward smaller than incremental cost |
| Payout | BTC, points or fiat? | Conversion rules change later |
| Withdrawal | Minimum and fee? | Reward remains trapped |
| Expiry | When do terms change? | Old rate reused after campaign ends |

Different paths create value in different ways. Keep payment for work, rewards, mining and scam screening separate.
